Google pagerank has become one of the most important factors, to determine how valuable is a web site. Many webmasters no longer care if your ranking well in SERP’s or not, or even if you have high amount of daily traffic. All they care about is your web site pagerank and how much your charging per link.

Google pagerank is not only a tool to measure the importance of a web site, it has also become a symbol for almost all webmasters. The more pagerank your web site has, the more respect you get among other webmasters. In fact, if you have pagerank 6 or higher, you will start getting hundreds of natural backlinks talking about how high your pagerank is!

Google pagerank is only important to those who sell/exchange links. Its also important for seo companies, in order to show their clients that they’re good at what they do. Other than that, it has no importance at all. My advice for you is not to worry much about your google pagerank and concentrate more on your web site products and content.

Web hosting domain registrar, GoDaddy.com, has become a Hosting Partner in the Microsoft BizSpark program. As part of this new alliance with Microsoft, BizSpark participants can utilize Go Daddy’s services as part of a network of unique offerings provided for qualified Internet start-up businesses.

Bob Parsons, CEO and Founder of Go Daddy remarked, ”Go Daddy is all about doing things easily and affordabl. That’s why we’ve joined the Microsoft BizSpark program as a Hosting Partner. It’s just one more way we can provide Internet entrepreneurs a simple, cost-effective solution to their registration, hosting and SSL cert needs.”

The announcement of Go Daddy’s participation in this international program was made today during Microsoft’s keynote address at the MIX09 conference for web designers and developers in Las Vegas, Nevada.

BizSpark is a global program designed to help accelerate the success of early stage start-ups by providing them with three critical needs – software, support and visibility – throughout a company’s first three years in operation when these tools are the most valuable and least affordable.

GoDaddy itself was an Internet start-up just a decade ago. Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons charged ahead with his entrepreneurial ideas in the midst of the dotCOM bust. Now, Go Daddy is a world leader in Web access, with more than 6.4 million customers and 34 million domains under management.

Mr. Parsons believes the Internet will soon be seen as the saving grace of a new global economy and encourages entrepreneurs to seek out new opportunities like the BizSpark program as a way to launch their ideas in tough economic times.

As a BizSpark Hosting Partner, Go Daddy will offer BizSpark members a wide range of essential applications and services including domain registration, hosting and SSL certificates for an extremely affordable price. Go Daddy will be the first Microsoft BizSpark Hosting Partner to provide member start-ups with this combination of services. In addition, these new companies will have access to Go Daddy’s industry-best personalized customer service 24/7/365.

Dan Lewin, corporate vice president of Strategic and Emerging Business Development at Microsoft Corp. remarked, ”We are excited to have Go Daddy as a Hosting Partner for the Microsoft BizSpark program. Go Daddy’s excellence in hosting services combined with Microsoft’s software platform provides start-ups with a unique opportunity to grow their businesses.”

In the BizSpark program, a start-up can download free Microsoft software for development, test and demonstration purposes and use Microsoft software hosted ”production licenses” free of charge for up to three years. For an online start-up to participate in the BizSpark program, it must be privately owned, in business less than 3 years and grossing less than $1MM.

In the coming months, both Microsoft BizSpark and Go Daddy will detail more about how to participate in this venture on their respective Web sites.

GoDaddy is a provider of services designed to enable individuals and businesses to establish, maintain and evolve an online presence. GoDaddy provides a variety of domain name registration plans and web site design and hosting packages, as well as a broad array of on-demand services. These include products such as SSL Certificates, Domains by Proxy private registration, ecommerce web site hosting, blog templates and blog software, podcast packages and online photo hosting. The GoDaddy Group, Inc. has more than 34 million domain names under management. GoDaddy registers, renews or transfers a domain name every second. GoDaddy.com is the world’s No. 1 domain name registrar according to Name Intelligence, Inc. GoDaddy.com is also the largest paid hosting provider in the world, according to Netcraft Ltd. During 2007, The GoDaddy Group registered more than one-third of all domain names registered in the top six generic top-level domains, or gTLDs, including .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz and .mobi.

EbayEvery home shopper knows what eBay is. Even people who do not regularly shop online still know what eBay is. With so much power, eBay provides shopping ease as well as great bargains. Now and again, there may be some eBay fraud going on, particularly with fake designer items, concert tickets, and pricey electronics that don’t even exist in the real market.

eBay already does its best to try and solve these problems, but as a shopper, you can simply follow these steps to avoid being conned:

1. Take a look at the seller’s feedback.
If there is a very high feedback, that would be great. If there is a lot of recent negative feedback, that isn’t great. If there is negative feedback, read through it, too, to see if they’re reasonable and how the seller reacted to the feedback. In some cases, newer members who purchase items on eBay tend to be paranoid and leave negative feedback straight away, so ensure that the seller was good in his defense. If there are numerous similar complaints, however, then stay away from that particular seller.

2. Find the seller’s information.
If the seller comes with some sort of identification, you can ensure that he is reliable. This is essential mostly when you plan on buying something expensive. In this case, try to get the seller’s contact information, as well. You can request this through e-mail on eBay itself.

3. Ask questions before you bid.
If the seller is responsible, he should find no difficulties in answering any of your questions.

4. Look for the item’s pictures and description.
Having pictures of the item is essential, so that people will know that the item actually exists. There should always be at least one picture there. If there is no picture because the seller is too lazy to post one, let it be. Careless sellers are not worth dealing with, as the item could be broken or defective. Also, check the item description and try to find other shopping websites that may hold the same one. The description on eBay should be similar to the description found on other websites.

5. Ask about shipping terms.
If the seller does not mention any handling terms, bring it up. Do not start bidding on an item if there are no terms beforehand, otherwise you will have agreed to the conditions on the product and will have a harder time fighting for your rights later.

For someone like me, that makes a living building websites, choosing a web host is like buying a car.  It takes a lot of time to compare features and price to make sure that you get the biggest bang for your buck.  Since every website is different, your needs when buying web hosting will be different almost every time.  As a result, you want to make sure that you have a list of the features you need when you begin the process of shopping for a new host.

If you have a business website, then you might need to consider a dedicated or VPS hosting, however if you’ve got just a personal website or blog been shared hosting might be right for you.  If you’ve got a very popular website, then you need a plan that offers a lot of bandwidth and storage, otherwise you risk a down website or a traffic surcharge, both of which can be very expensive.  Although most shared hosting plans offer unlimited bandwidth and storage, make sure you choose a web host that lives up to their claims.

One of the most important factors for me when choosing a web host is the company’s customer service.  I need to know that I can submit technical support claims via e-mail, telephone, and online chat.  I want to make sure that the company will respond to my claim any time efficient manner and that my issue will not just fall to the bottom of the queue.  Unfortunately, there are very few web hosts that offer this capability, so make sure you take the time to find them.

One last thing to consider is that you think about features you might need in the relative future.  If you’re going to lock in a price for a year or more, then you might want to go ahead and add some additional features now, rather than pay for them individually down the road.  This can save you a lot of money and will make it much easier to upgrade your website as the traffic and functionality increases.  Although you might be tempted to take the best offer that comes along, I recommend that you spend some time analyzing each host to make sure that you get the best price and the most features.

Shopping for a web host can be a lengthy process by the time that you compare prices, features, and uptime. However, when paying for web hosting, many people make the mistake of focusing solely on price rather than looking into all the features included in a package. This is especially true with free web hosting, which is often a cheap ticket towards website hell. Although cheaper prices are important, I believe it is much more important to find a webhost with guaranteed uptime, even if it costs a little bit more. Now, many web hosts do offer guaranteed uptime, but many don’t deliver what they promise.

When shopping for a web host with guaranteed uptime, you will find that most of them guarantee 99.9% uptime. Now, in some cases this is a true claim, but there are many cases where it isn’t. To check these hosts and to make sure that you keep them honest, you can do a Google search for “website uptime,” which will lead you to several tools that can give you the real uptime numbers for several popular hosts.

Even if you find a host that can’t quite live up to their claim, if their features and price are legit, then you probably can’t go wrong choosing them. However, when you find a host that overhypes their guaranteed uptime claims by 5-10% and still offers poor prices and functionality, then I would not walk but run away. The secret is to finding a web host that meets right in the middle, especially if their claims are legit.

There are a few web hosts that offer great features at a great price and once you’ve found them then I recommend not only using them, but sharing your experiences with your friends. You could also give a heads up on some popular web hosting forums so that others in your situation will learn from your experience. Although uptime isn’t always the most important factor, if you’ve got money on the line then I would put it right up there with speed. Having a server with constant uptime that runs fast is your ticket to business success.

YouTubeIn a day and age of social media, with video is getting increasingly popular, finding a good video host is an important step in uploading videos for the Internet to see. Although you could go with the traditional route and use YouTube to host all of your videos, there are plenty of other companies that you should consider as well.

One of the most important factors in choosing video hosting is the amount of control you have over your videos. Although most video host allow you to make your videos private, there are few that make them public regardless of your intention. Most of the popular video host, such as YouTube, Viddler, and MySpace video all allow you to set the privacy settings while the video is uploading. They also make it very easy to upload several videos at once, with their batch upload process.

Most video host also allow you to implant a URL in the description, which is handy if you are an affiliate marketer or want the video to lead traffic to your website. You can also tag your videos with several different descriptive keywords that help people searching find your video based on its content.

There’s one video host in particular that I like because it allows you to brand your videos with your own logo and URL. It is called Viddler and many people use it for business videos or online TV shows.

Although you could host your own videos on your own website, since videos take up a lot of space you can eat up your storage space very quickly. This is why I recommend that you find a video host and use them as the primary source for your videos. From there, you can easily embed those videos on your website as you need to. If you are using videos as marketing tools, then I recommend uploading to as many video host as possible. One great site to help you do this is called Tube Mogul, and it is a free service. You can also upload videos individually if you prefer, but it can take a lot of time to manually upload a video to several websites.

When it comes to web hosting, most people are only familiar with personal web hosting, which is also called shared hosting. Although shared hosting is the cheapest form of web hosting, it is also the least efficient because several domains are hosted on the same account. This is where VPS and dedicated become much more useful because they allow you to dedicate resources specifically for your website. In this article, we will talk about the benefits of each and what the differences between the two of them are.

The great thing about both dedicated and VPS hosting are that they are much faster and much more efficient than shared hosting. They are both relatively expensive compared to shared hosting, but this is because they have more resources and storage dedicated to them.

Dedicated Hosting
Dedicated hosting is the term used to describe the situation in which you have 1 server dedicated to 1 website. It is the most expensive form of web hosting, but it is also the fastest and most efficient. When you have a dedicated web host, your uptime is practically guaranteed and you will have a huge amount of storage and bandwidth specifically dedicated to your website. As opposed to share hosting, which shares the storage and bandwidth of a server, dedicated hosting devotes an entire server’s resources to your website.

VPS Hosting
VPS hosting differs from dedicated hosting in that it is a form of shared hosting, being that several sites are still hosted on a single server. The difference between VPS and shared hosting is that every site on a VPS server has dedicated resources, including bandwidth, memory, and hard drive storage. With VPS servers, the web hosts sets up an individual system environment on a server that is cut-off from the other sites on the server. As a result, even though the sites are on a shared server, there are individual resources allocated for each website, which boosts speed and efficiency.

Although VPS is slightly cheaper than dedicated hosting, it might be worth your while to purchase dedicated hosting if you have a popular business or e-commerce website. If you don’t need a dedicated server, then VPS hosting might be perfect for your situation.
