Article marketing has proven to be among the most effective internet marketing strategies to promote a business and make money online. Apart from this, it is a simple and relatively cheap way to promote the offerings of your online business and pursue a link building campaign at the same time.

The concept of promoting your business through article marketing in order to make money online is quite simple. However, you must realize that pursuing it correctly is not as easy as it seems. It does not just involve writing articles about your offerings and directing your readers to the website of your online business. Besides sparing enough time for writing the articles as well as submitting each one to article directories, there are other things you must take note of in order to ensure that you will be able to make money online out of your article marketing campaign.

With article marketing, both the quality and quantity are of huge importance. You will not be able to make money online out of your article marketing campaign if you choose to focus on just one of those two elements. Doing away with quality will leave your readers less than impressed and you will not be able to make money online out of them. On the other hand, ignoring the quantity of articles to use for your article marketing campaign will keep your online business from being noticed. Apart from this, your entire campaign will not generate enough links if you don’t have a good quantity of articles to publish.

Many business owners who want to make money online place more importance on the quantity of articles to include in their article marketing campaigns. Because few of them actually have the time and skill to write a good number of articles themselves, so many of them choose to purchase articles from other writers. That is actually not a bad idea. However, if you would like to do that for your own article marketing campaign, you will have to be sure that the writer you choose not only has the skill to write good articles but also has sufficient knowledge on your own online business as well as your own niche. Do not be afraid to spend a lot of money to hire good writers as you will be able to make money out of the articles they write anyway.

Always keep in mind that the only way you can make money out of your article marketing campaign is to have the right amount of good quality articles. If you do this correctly, you will be able to generate a great number of back links to your business website as well as entire readers to avail of what you have to offer. With a successful article marketing campaign in place, you will be able to make money online through your own online business.

Environmentally conscious web hosting provider, AISO.net, has launched its new website and brand identity, as the first and only 100 percent solar-powered web hosting company.

The ‘Total Eco Web Server’ or TEWS, is the new brand identity, and symbolizes the company’s commitment to the environment.

Phil Nail, CTO of AISO.net remarked, ”Our new logo and brand identity shows the transformation from being just solar-powered to having a complete hosting ecosystem that is environmentally friendly. This new look reflects the values that AISO.net has been known for in the business community, while also representing our new strategic direction for a complete environmentally-friendly hosting solution.”

AISO.net is located in Romoland, CA, a few miles south of Riverside, CA, where the annual rainfall is minimal and the sun is out over 70 percent of the year.

Mr. Nail added, ”We have been able to power our office and servers without using the local energy grid via on-site solar power. Even cloudy days can collect the sun’s power and with the new TEWS setup we combine solar power, recycled rain water to cool the data center, air for Internet conductivity, virtualized servers, and other great eco-friendly technologies.”

AISO.net recently added four 2,500 gallon water tanks behind the data center to harvest the annual rainfall and nightly condensation. The tanks were installed 20 days ago and they have already harvested 6,000 gallons of rainwater. AISO.net has plans for adding four more tanks which will result in over 20,000 gallons of water collected. The water collected will be used for two things: landscaping and cooling the data center. Special air units from Coolerado use this recycled rain water which acts as a cooling agent to cool the hot desert air down to a cool 67 degrees all using less than 600 watts of power.

Mr. Nail added, ”To stay ahead of the industry we have to act and look like rock stars. That is why we chose Thunk to help with our re-brand and strategic business development. They get it. The IT industry is not a glamorous world but we believe our way is how data should move through the Internet. It’s logical and environmental, and that thinking has helped give us exposure. We are in a sweet spot right now because our infrastructure is built on solar panels so the more energy we can get out of 120 panels the easier it will be to scale – and we plan to scale. All it takes is another 120 panels and more efficient technologies and we keep staying ahead of the demands for data.”

James Tucker, founder of Thunk, Inc. in San Francisco noted, ”Solar web hosting is not a novelty, this is serious. There is no excuse for companies to use data centers and hosting providers that have old infrastructures and antiquated models with fancy websites that brag about buying energy credits. Consumers need to be smarter than that and realize that these data centers are sucking the earth dry of resources. I discovered this working on a rebrand for a large data center company and was inspired to shift my clients, company and mission to use alternative energy for web hosting. Fossil fuel hosting companies are going to need to make radical changes – and fast. This comes at a time where change is expensive but the consumer demands companies make the change or they will go somewhere that aligns with their business philosophy.”

Mr. Nail added, ”I am glad people choose us because we are a solar web hosting company, but in business, it has to go beyond that. We want people to come to AISO.net because of our service, reliability, uptime, and customer service.”

AISO.net also uses LED lighting, solar tubes, thin client computers and other unique green techniques which allow more capacity without having a large physical footprint housing hundreds of servers and cages. The dedicated servers offer high availability and are extremely scalable. All data resides on fiber drives and all data is backed up hourly. The servers utilize NetApp for the data storage and VMware to maximum server uptime. This same solution is used by 95 percent of all Fortune 500 companies.

Mr. Nail concluded, ”Companies like Discovery Channel and Indianapolis Zoo love our dedicated server solution because it gives them piece of mind knowing their data is secure.”

Thunk is an interactive team located in San Francisco that works with start-ups, agencies, marketers, and directors as a creative resource for web, application, print, video, and Flash projects. We specialize in information architecture, project management, content development, rapid prototyping, strategic lead generation campaigns, and branding.

AISO.net has been a trusted name in environmentally friendly web hosting since 1997, providing a level of service that is unmatched in the industry. All network and server hardware is fully redundant with 24×7-automated systems monitoring to ensure the highest possible uptime. Using solar panels to power its data center and network, AISO.net is the first and only 100 percent solar-powered web hosting company. Customers as far away as Kenya, East Africa, rely on the service and reliability offered by AISO.net

While most important aspects of building a website is file transfer protocol, which is also called FTP. FTP allows you to connect with your web server from a remote host so that you can transfer files both to and from your web host with ease. Although most hosting panels will allow you to use their built in FTP client or file manager, there really is no substitute for using a stand-alone FTP program. To help you understand a bit more about how FTP works, and how to get started using it to transfer files to your domain, we developed this brief guide to using file transfer protocol.

The first thing that you need to do to get started with FTP is to get an FTP client. One of my favorite FTP clients is called Filezilla, which is a free FTP client that offers several features that make it very easy to transfer files. When you first set up your FTP client, you’ll need to add your FTP address, username, and password. Typically, the FTP address for your website uses the following protocol: FTP.mydomain.com. Your username and password will probably be similar to what you use to log into your cPanel or hosting account.

Once you’ve created your account, then you can configure your file directories. Although you don’t have to do this, I prefer to set my root directory structure up so that I know where all of my files are going in case I forget to send them to the right place. Once you’ve got everything ready to go, then you simply click connect and watch as the FTP client logs into your domain. Once you’re in your domains root directory, then you’ll navigate to the public_html directory or the folder in which you plan to install your website. From there, simply drag and drop the files that you wish to upload and let your client do its thing.

FTP is fairly easy, especially if you are familiar with operating and navigating a Windows operation system. Although it will take some time for the files to upload or download, you don’t have to actively monitor the process, which means you can basically set it and forget it. Just make sure that if you notice any failed transfers that you read queue them until they finish. Otherwise, you’ll risk a website that is only halfway uploaded, which obviously means that your website will not be complete.

SoftLayer Technologies has extended its portfolio of available server hardware options with the addition of solid state drives (SSDs). SSDs are an enterprise-level solution for reliable and secure storage. Unlike disk-based storage drives, SSDs have no moving parts. This decreases their power consumption, cooling needs, and performance latency. It also greatly reduces their risk of mechanical failure, making SSDs more durable than traditional disk-based drives.

“Our customers constantly need more from their storage, and not only more volume but also higher levels of performance and reliability,” said Joshua Rushe, Vice President of Data Center Operations for SoftLayer. “Offering solid state drives is yet another way that SoftLayer is meeting customers’ needs with an enterprise-class, leading-edge technology solution. SSDs provide greater performance and power efficiency, which can be leveraged to attain a higher margin of cost-effectiveness.”

Beyond the advantages of low latency and decreased power and cooling, SoftLayer’s solid state drive offering provides:

    • Latest generation SATA interface
    • 10 parallel NAND Flash channels equipped with single-level cell NAND Flash memory
    • Native Command Queuing to enable up to 32 concurrent operations
    • Sustained sequential read: up to 250 MB/s
    • Sustained sequential write: up to 170 MB/s

SoftLayer is currently offering the following drives:

    • 32 GB SATA Intel SLC Solid State Drive $50.00 per month
    • 64 GB SATA Intel SLC Solid State Drive $100.00 per month

Go Daddy spokesman, Dale Earnhardt Jr., raced the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet at the car’s season debut in the Sam’s Town 300 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Nationwide Series race took place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and was broadcast on ESPN2.

In early January, Go Daddy anounced its return to NASCAR for the 2009 season with an expanded sponsorship of Earnhardt Jr., JR Motorsports and Hendrick Motorsports. This season’s Go Daddy sponsorship features Dale Jr. and protg Brad Keselowski in both the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series.

Go Daddy is the primary sponsor for 20 Nationwide Series races with Earnhardt driving the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolets and Keselowski driving the No. 88 GoDaddy.com Chevrolets.

Go Daddy also sponsors Keselowski in the No. 25 GoDaddy.com Chevrolets for seven Sprint Cup Series races this season. This first race in that car could come this Sunday. Keselowski will attempt to qualify for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race in the No. 25 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet tomorrow at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., who helped design the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolets, became a Go Daddy spokesman after first being a Go Daddy customer. Earnhardt visited Go Daddy’s Scottsdale, Ariz. corporate campus last fall. Afterward, he remarked on his impressions of both the technology and the people.

Mr. Earnhardt Jr. noted, ”I consider myself quite knowledgeable when it comes to computers and the web. It’s fun to be able to bounce ideas off each other in making this partnership really click.”

This has been a tough year for NASCAR drivers in terms of sponsorships. Economic struggles have forced many longtime sponsors to pull out. Go Daddy, however, experienced unprecedented success in 2008 and, in turn, expanded this year’s NASCAR sponsorship.

Bob Parsons, CEO and Founder of Go Daddy remarked, ”When we talked about sponsoring Dale Jr., it was a no-brainer. He’s a great driver, NASCAR is non-stop action and it has the most fun-loving, loyal fans out there.”

Go Daddy’s foray into racing sponsorships started in 2006 with the company’s support of IndyCar’s Danica Patrick. That sponsorship continues this year as well. Patrick, a Go Daddy Girl and IndyCar’s most popular driver, made history last season as the first woman ever to win in the IndyCar Series.

Go Daddy offers a wide array of services far beyond domain name registration. The company is a world leader in web site hosting, new SSL certificates, as well as offering web site design, Quick Shopping Cart for online vendors and – new in 2009 – Go Daddy Marketplace, an online shopping mall where Go Daddy leverages the draw of its popular global Web site to showcase customer products.

Go Daddy is a leading provider of services that enable individuals and businesses to establish, maintain and evolve an online presence. Go Daddy provides a variety of domain name registration plans and Web site design and hosting packages, as well as a broad array of on-demand services. These include products such as SSL Certificates, Domains by Proxy private registration, ecommerce Web site hosting, blog templates and blog software, podcast packages and online photo hosting. The Go Daddy Group, Inc. has more than 33 million domain names under management. Go Daddy registers, renews or transfers a domain name every second. GoDaddy.com is the world’s No. 1 domain name registrar according to Name Intelligence, Inc. GoDaddy.com is also rated the world’s largest hostname provider according to Netcraft Ltd. During 2008, The Go Daddy Group registered more than one-third of all new domain names created in the top six generic top-level domains, or gTLDs, including .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz and .mobi.

cPanel LogoIf you’re not sure which web host to purchase, then I have a tip that might help you make a final decision. Most good web hosts have something called cPanel, which is basically the hidden underbelly of the web hosting world.  What I mean by that, is that everything you need to tweak or optimize your website, lies hidden behind a special access panel.  This access panel, also called a control panel, is where you update e-mail accounts, FTP accounts, subdomains, databases, and practically any other setting that you will need to change in your website.

You can access cPanel by typing your domain name followed by a /cPanel. You’ll then be prompted for a username and password, which will lead you to the cPanel main menu.  From there you’ll find hundreds of options related to your domain and your hosting account.  The first time that you access cPanel might be a bit confusing, but once you’ve had a chance to play around with the settings and get familiar with the layout, you should build to pick it up pretty easily.

From the cPanel main menu, you can take a look at all of your e-mail accounts, which includes checking your e-mail accounts if they are not forwarded to an external e-mail address.  You can also add, update, or delete MySQL databases, which are needed to run more advanced server-based software systems.  On the sidebar you should see your storage and bandwidth quotas listed, so you can keep an eye on whether or not you are close to using your allotted space.  If you are close to using your storage and bandwidth limits, then you might consider upgrading.

You can change your passwords, ad domain redirects, or take a look at your domain analytics all from the same place.  If you’ve ever used a domain or hosting account that did not include cPanel, then you’ll realize just how important it is to have everything you need directly at your fingertips.  I had that problem once, but I never made a mistake of choosing a host without cPanel again.  Although most web hosts offer similar functionality, cPanel makes adding more selling domains a much more efficient process.
