GoDaddy.com web hosting and domain registrar, helped boost the bottom line for the Arizona Humane Society Telethon by matching every single contribution made on the Internet.

The Scottsdale-based domain name registrar and web hosting provider also doubled its own donation with a $100,000 check delivered by none other than Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons’ dogs Max and Chief.

This is the fourth consecutive year Go Daddy delivered big for Arizona animals and in these rough economic times, when donations are more difficult to secure, Go Daddy was happy to help make a difference as the title sponsor. Total money raised in the annual telethon yesterday was more than $328,000.

Go Daddy also helped on the technical side behind the scenes, and on camera many Go Daddy employees answered telephone calls during the live broadcast. The move that really stole the show though was the company’s check delivery method, performed in GoDaddy-esque style… no, not by a Go Daddy Girl, but by the ‘Go Daddy’ dogs.

Max and Chief are Parsons’ dogs and have become regulars for the telethon’s big finish. Bob Parsons, Founder and CEO of GoDaddy noted, ”Max and Chief learn a new trick for each telethon,” referring to how Chief pulled Max in a Go Daddy chariot to deliver the $100,000 check to end the live telethon. Mr. Parsons added, ”Max and Chief even went ‘green’ this year using a chariot instead of the Go Daddy motorized car.”

Whether delivered by Border Terriers or more conventional methods, Go Daddy is continuing to make a difference in the Valley of the Sun with its charitable donations. As many companies are scaling back philanthropic donations due to the economy, Go Daddy is stepping up its charity efforts.

Guy Collison, executive director of the Arizona Humane Society remarked, ”It’s amazing to see that every year Go Daddy has been involved with the telethon they not only meet but exceed our expectations. Go Daddy keeps the telethon’s online components running smoothly and helps organize online contributions. To top it off they doubled their donation this year.”

Thousands of sick, injured and homeless animals across the state will have their lives saved or improved with the money raised through the telethon. The annual charity event not only raises much needed money for these animals, but also provides low-cost spay and neuter services and educational programs, including how to better care for pets, fight animal cruelty and adopt a pet.

Go Daddy’s philanthropic works support a wide variety of charitable and community organizations dedicated to such causes as domestic violence, child abuse, disabled children, teenage homelessness, Parkinson’s research, breast cancer and more. Go Daddy donated $1.7MM to charitable causes last year and is on pace to break its own record for 2009.

Go Daddy is a leading provider of services that enable individuals and businesses to establish, maintain and evolve an online presence. Go Daddy provides a variety of domain name registration plans and Web site design and hosting packages, as well as a broad array of on-demand services. These include products such as SSL Certificates, Domains by Proxy private registration, ecommerce Web site hosting, blog templates and blog software, podcast packages and online photo hosting. The Go Daddy Group, Inc. has more than 36 million domain names under management. Go Daddy registers, renews or transfers a domain name every second. GoDaddy.com is the world’s No. 1 domain name registrar according to Name Intelligence, Inc. GoDaddy.com is also rated the world’s largest hostname provider according to Netcraft Ltd. During 2008, The Go Daddy Group registered more than one-third of all new domain names created in the top six generic top-level domains, or gTLDs, including .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz and .mobi.

Managed hosting services provider, HostDime, has completed construction of a new data and network operations center in Brazil, greatly expanding the hosting capacity of the company’s local division, HostDime Brazil.

Emmanuel Vivar, CEO of HostDime offered, ”Brazil has a population of over 200 million and is one of the fastest growing online countries in the world. While 80% of Brazilian websites are hosted out of the country due to lower costs, the completion of this facility is key to converting that 80% into a major source of growth for our Brazilian division. By hosting sites locally, latency can be reduced to under 75ms, compared to the more than 150ms latency for websites hosted on U.S.-based servers.”

When HostDime opened its international division in Brazil nearly three years ago, there were no plans to open a data center facility locally. However, rapidly rising demand for locally-hosted services in Brazil has made the move necessary, and will enable HostDime Brazil to boast a comparative advantage in terms of both reduced costs and greater accessibility. Its current client base of over 5,000 clients just from the Brazil division also has been creating a demand for local servers, and with more than 200% growth per year in the division, this facility expansion will propel further growth.

The new 5,000 square foot data center is located in the equivalent of Class-A office space, down the hall from HostDime Brazil’s business office in the same complex. The data center suite is fully supported by an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and generator to minimize service disruption in the event of a power-grid failure. HostDime originally selected Joao Pessoa, Paraiba, Brazil, to host its operations due to the city’s record as natural-disaster-free, with no hurricanes or earthquakes in its history. It is also the easternmost city in the Americas and is often cited as the second greenest city in the world. The data center is also one of the very few in the northern part of Brazil, helping businesses to host outside the saturated southern part of Brazil like Sao Paulo.

HostDime is a privately owned, leading website hosting provider offering reliable, secure managed hosting services that cater to a range of clients, from entry-level to enterprise-level operations. HostDime owns and operates its own data center in Orlando, Fla. With a client base of more than 700,000 hosted domains on 3,000 servers, HostDime presently ranks among the top 50 biggest web hosting companies in the world.

Server virtualization, automation and software provider, Parallels, will conduct a seven-country partner roadshow targeting Parallels’ partners and other hosters, cloud services providers and ISVs.

The EMEA Partner Roadshow will provide attendees with insights and best practices to deploy applications and services in a hosted environment. The roadshow will also provide practical examples of how hosters can use white-label reselling to create a lucrative indirect sales channel with a wider portfolio of applications, while maintaining brand independence and client loyalty.

Johan Vansimpsen, CTO and co-founder at Network Group Europe remarked, ”Network Group is using Parallels to balance a fine-tuned approach for delivering IT resellers the best possible technology to ‘grow with the cloud’ from the start. We are committed to delivering a full-blown hosted communications platform reseller solution and with Parallels, we are now able to deploy new services five times faster, so logically we are anticipating five times more revenue. Parallels also allows Network Group systems integrators (SIs) and value added resellers (VARs) a speedy entry to market option that gives them the fastest route to customers who trust them to deliver the most flexible software and services packages at the best price points.”

White-label reselling enables hosters to resell and deliver SaaS applications including Microsoft Exchange, Windows SharePoint, Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS), etc. in a hosted environment. In the SaaS model, end user customers subscribe to applications instead of purchasing them, typically on a monthly basis. In this pay-as-you go approach, SMBs are afforded an easy-to-use low-cost service.

An April 2009, study by IDC finds that growth in the SaaS market will be strong in Europe despite – and in some cases because of – the weak economic conditions. The overall SaaS market will grow from 237 million in 2004 to 6,005 million in 2013 (1). From this and other recent IDC studies, it is clear that SaaS has become accepted by the mainstream of user organizations around Europe. This will result in continued strong growth, making SaaS a rising star in a very largely depressed European software market.

Dan Germain, CTO at Cobweb Solutions remarked, ”Leveraging Parallels we were able to increase our average revenue per user, deploy new services faster and reduce operating costs. It was critical for us to find a provider able to properly support white-label services at a modular and infrastructure level, so that our partners can resell Cobweb services under their own brand. Parallels allows Cobweb and its resellers to provide multiple-vendor solutions and flexible billing and administration across its different service offerings. Parallels enables Cobweb to increase revenue from each and every customer, both now and in the future.”

White-Label Reselling lets hosters delegate service plans to their customers to resell and offer a wider array of applications, without the extended cost of infrastructure involved in creating and distributing the applications themselves. White-label resale also offers an indirect sales channel and lets resellers maintain their unique brand independence, as well as retaining client loyalty. With white-label web hosting, it is possible for anyone to run their own web hosting business, while they rent or buy the actual web server space and services from an established hosting provider. Resellers do not have to take on the huge investment that make-up a web hosting service such as web servers, network connections, data center staff, server administrators, server support technicians and web server software and system licenses.

The 2009 Parallels Partner Roadshow will be take place in: Stockholm, September 1; Amsterdam, September 3; Warsaw, September 7; Cologne, September 10; Paris, September 14; Madrid, September 17 and London, September 21. To register for any of the events, or for more information, please visit www.parallels.com/emea2009.
