SoftLayer, the innovative on-demand data center services provider, today announced its inclusion in the 2010 Inc. 500|5000 list. The company was ranked 155th overall, and 12th in the IT Services industry, based on revenue growth from 2006 to 2009.

Issued annually, the Inc. 500|5000 list ranks the fastest growing companies in the U.S. Companies were required to have minimum revenues of $80,000 in 2006 and minimum revenues of $2 million in 2009 to qualify for the 2010 list, and must be privately held, for profit, and independent as of December 31, 2009.

“We are very pleased to be included in the Inc. 500. It is an honor to be listed among America’s top private companies and leading entrepreneurs,” said George Karidis, SoftLayer Chief Strategy Officer. “We have seen strong revenue growth and remarkable success since our founding in 2005, even through a challenging, turbulent economic climate.”

SoftLayer’s growth has been enabled by its strategic position to address the dynamic needs of businesses in an unstable economy. SoftLayer’s IT solutions offers an option for enterprises of any size, from any industry, to outsource their data center infrastructure needs and focus their resources on operational needs rather than capital expenditures.

SoftLayer Technologies™, the innovative on-demand data center services provider, today announced the opening of three new data center pods in the company’s Dallas, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., data center facilities. The new pods add capacity for 20,000 additional servers, bringing SoftLayer’s total capacity to more than 45,000 physical machines.

“We continue gaining momentum every year. We broke more projections and records this year than last, and 2010 will bring even more of the same,” said Lance Crosby, CEO of SoftLayer. “These three new pods meet the customer demand increases that we expect in the very near future. And they are only preliminary measures in our growth strategy for 2010. We have some big plans which we can’t wait to share with everyone.”

“We’re extremely excited to introduce Private Cloud services to our customers. Private Cloud gives Softlayer customers yet another dynamic, scalable infrastructure option,” said Nathan Day, CTO, SoftLayer. “This will provide a service with segregated physical computing hardware giving customers security and peace of mind with the benefits of unlimited, on-demand scalability.”

SoftLayer’s milestones in 2009 included:

More than 5,700 active customers across 110+ countries

More than 23,000 deployed servers

Placement in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Web Hosting and Cloud Infrastructure Services

Introduction of CloudLayer™ line of cloud services, including CloudLayer Storage, CloudLayer CDN, CloudLayer Computing, and Bare Metal Cloud™

Industry’s first deployment of Intel® Nehalem microarchitecture

IPv6 support across all data centers

Multiple carrier additions across all data centers for a total of 290Gbps

The new pods are part of SoftLayer’s unique approach to data center design. Each of the company’s geographically diverse data centers consists of multiple pods built to identical specifications with the same bestin- class methodologies. This level of standardization across all its geographic locations enables SoftLayer to optimize key data center performance variables, including space, power, network, personnel, and internal infrastructure.

The Planet, a global leader in IT hosting, today announced the availability of the Dell PowerVault MD3000i, a high-performance storage area network (SAN) disk array. Ideal for multi-server environments such as virtual and private racks, the MD3000i offers a cost-effective and scalable storage solution.

The MD3000i uses iSCSI Ethernet technology to enable shared storage across multiple servers, eliminating the need to build out a costly fiber channel infrastructure. Up to 16 servers can share the MD3000i, which has 15 internal drive slots for a total storage capacity up to 15 terabytes (TB). In the event more capacity is required, companies can add up to two MD1000 storage arrays to the MD3000i for an additional 45TB.
“One of the most critical business challenges customers face today is data storage, and all too often it’s also one of the most costly,” said Rob Walters, director of product management for The Planet. “The MD3000i lowers the barrier to entry for high-performance, consolidated storage, and also provides a clear path for expansion for companies that expect to see their storage requirements grow.”

About the Dell PowerVault MD3000i
The iSCSI SAN array provides a scalable and low-cost storage solution, which continually protects daily operations and enables an easy path for expansion:
Cost-effective: The MD3000i, The Planet’s lowest-priced SAN, can be shared by as many as 16 servers, which eliminates the high cost of buying individual storage devices for each server.

Scalable: In addition to its 15 internal drive slots, customers can add up to two 15-drive MD1000 disk arrays to the MD3000i, for up to 45TB of storage.

Capable: With its large capacity and high availability, the MD3000i is ideal for businesses running performance-intensive applications, databases, and file or archive storage.

Codero unveils new server networks improving security, performance, backup and ongoing management for any dedicated hosting scenario. Custom network configurations offer complete redundancy and control for high-volume email, websites, databases, application hosting and more. Three custom network configurations are designed to support complex business applications requiring multiple servers. Load-Balanced is fully redundant maintaining network traffic on high-capacity mail and web servers. High Availability is designed for marketing campaigns, high-traffic stores and data-demanding applications. The Cluster network configuration supports social media hosting, large databases and mission-critical infrastructure with optimum privacy.

“These custom configurations are perfect for the medium-to-large enterprise,” says Taylor Giddens, Director, Dedicated Services for Codero. “Whether to secure core data, handle spikes in traffic or support thousands of users at once, each server network delivers a flexible solution with an emphasis on uptime.”

Codero’s network configurations feature high-quality components including dedicated load balancing, Cisco firewall, EVault managed backup, 100MB switch, Gigabit Private VLAN and database (dynamic, replication or cluster). All server setups are available as Linux or Windows and may be further customized to meet any business need.

Web hosting providers, CirtexHosting and HostV, will join the fight against cancer by donating a portion of its sales in October to the Jimmy Fund, which supports cancer research and care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

John Xie, President of Cirtex Corp. remarked, ”In one way or another, cancer affects us all. At Cirtex Corp, we’ve seen the effects of cancer up and close, and it’s our moral obligation to stand up and do our part to help advance the important research that offers the hope of better treatment and higher survival rates. My hope is that we can encourage more individuals and businesses to join our efforts and begin to support causes like this. Sometimes we don’t realize how important medical research is until it’s too late.”

Each year, the Jimmy Fund hosts the Jimmy Fund Walk as part of the Boston Marathon. This year’s walk was held several weeks ago and nearly 800 walkers raised more than $325,000. Cirtex Corp. is making its October donation to the 2009 Jimmy Fund Walk in the name of the walkers in this year’s event.

Cirtex Corp. has supported a variety of charitable initiatives in the past, including the recovery efforts in the wake of the 2008 earthquake in China’s Sichuan province. The company also perpetually supports non-profit open source software development initiatives and conferences, including the WordCamp series for WordPress, as well as programs for Drupal, ClipBucket and PHPMotion.

Founded in 2003, Cirtex Corp. is the leading provider of shared, reseller, virtual and dedicated web hosting solutions. The company serves thousands of customers internationally through two dynamic brands – CirtexHosting and HostV. Cirtex Corp. offers 24/7 technical support and a 30-Day unconditional guarantee.

Provider of change management, user provisioning and access control software, Ensim Unify, is providing provisioning and management for Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS), accelerating the deployment for customers of over 150,000 seats.

Described as currently the largest single OCS installation in North America, in less than 90 days, Ensim’s OCS Manager solved all the major provisioning and management requirements that had delayed the deployment of over 150,000 seats of Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007.

Scott Young, vice president of marketing and product management at Ensim Corporation noted, ”Deployment of OCS 2007 often proves challenging for regulated organizations due to complex user entitlement policies. By deploying Ensim Unify, our customer was able to solve its OCS provisioning and management challenges in less than 90 days, while enforcing the security and compliance policies required for its users. The effectiveness and scalability of Ensim Unify speaks for itself in this case, given the size of the OCS deployment it enabled.”

A number of provisioning obstacles had stopped the customer from gaining the benefits of OCS. These obstacles included support for complex IT security and compliance policies, such as multiple provisioning workflows for different types of employees, multi-level help desk support, and minimizing the burden on IT caused by the manual update process. Ensim delivered a provisioning and management solution that integrated with the customer’s existing directory infrastructure and provisioning policies and supported different provisioning workflows, while automating the hundreds of daily manual updates. It also enabled delegated administration to support multi-level help desk operations, while offering full audit and reporting for these processes.

Ensim Unify Enterprise Edition is a complete, role-based access management solution that can be deployed just for OCS or across the entire unified communications (UC) infrastructure including email, VoIP, conferencing, collaboration, and instant messaging. Ensim’s OCS Manager enables businesses to realize the promise of unified communications without the pain of manual user provisioning and burdensome management. OCS Manager works with existing ID management solutions to allow organizations to take full advantage of all the new OCS 2007 features without imposing a burden on IT.

Key features of Ensim Unify Enterprise Edition OCS Manager include:

Ability to Integrate with Complex Provisioning Policies

Support for Multiple Provisioning Workflows

Automated Maintenance of Daily Manual Updates

Full Multi-level Help Desk Support

Detailed System Activity and Transaction Logging

David J. Wippich, chairman and CEO at Ensim Corporation remarked, ”The ROI associated with deploying unified communications is significant, but many organizations are stuck at deployment or take on burdensome management tasks after deployment. Ensim Unify enables quick deployment, automation of maintenance tasks, and interoperability that leverages existing investments and policies that can be extended to UC apps like OCS.”

Founded in 1998, Ensim Corporation is the leading provider of user provisioning and access management software. Ensim products are used by service providers and enterprises worldwide to accelerate and enable deployment of integrated solutions, simplify and automate secure management of complex environments, and increase user and IT productivity. Ensim has over two million users under management and is Microsoft Gold Certified.

GoDaddy.com web hosting and domain registrar, helped boost the bottom line for the Arizona Humane Society Telethon by matching every single contribution made on the Internet.

The Scottsdale-based domain name registrar and web hosting provider also doubled its own donation with a $100,000 check delivered by none other than Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons’ dogs Max and Chief.

This is the fourth consecutive year Go Daddy delivered big for Arizona animals and in these rough economic times, when donations are more difficult to secure, Go Daddy was happy to help make a difference as the title sponsor. Total money raised in the annual telethon yesterday was more than $328,000.

Go Daddy also helped on the technical side behind the scenes, and on camera many Go Daddy employees answered telephone calls during the live broadcast. The move that really stole the show though was the company’s check delivery method, performed in GoDaddy-esque style… no, not by a Go Daddy Girl, but by the ‘Go Daddy’ dogs.

Max and Chief are Parsons’ dogs and have become regulars for the telethon’s big finish. Bob Parsons, Founder and CEO of GoDaddy noted, ”Max and Chief learn a new trick for each telethon,” referring to how Chief pulled Max in a Go Daddy chariot to deliver the $100,000 check to end the live telethon. Mr. Parsons added, ”Max and Chief even went ‘green’ this year using a chariot instead of the Go Daddy motorized car.”

Whether delivered by Border Terriers or more conventional methods, Go Daddy is continuing to make a difference in the Valley of the Sun with its charitable donations. As many companies are scaling back philanthropic donations due to the economy, Go Daddy is stepping up its charity efforts.

Guy Collison, executive director of the Arizona Humane Society remarked, ”It’s amazing to see that every year Go Daddy has been involved with the telethon they not only meet but exceed our expectations. Go Daddy keeps the telethon’s online components running smoothly and helps organize online contributions. To top it off they doubled their donation this year.”

Thousands of sick, injured and homeless animals across the state will have their lives saved or improved with the money raised through the telethon. The annual charity event not only raises much needed money for these animals, but also provides low-cost spay and neuter services and educational programs, including how to better care for pets, fight animal cruelty and adopt a pet.

Go Daddy’s philanthropic works support a wide variety of charitable and community organizations dedicated to such causes as domestic violence, child abuse, disabled children, teenage homelessness, Parkinson’s research, breast cancer and more. Go Daddy donated $1.7MM to charitable causes last year and is on pace to break its own record for 2009.

Go Daddy is a leading provider of services that enable individuals and businesses to establish, maintain and evolve an online presence. Go Daddy provides a variety of domain name registration plans and Web site design and hosting packages, as well as a broad array of on-demand services.
